Sawyer Camp Trail (San Carlos/Belmont/San Mateo)
Rating: Easy
Distance: 12 miles (round-trip)
Time: 1-2 hours
USGS 7.5' topo: San Mateo & Montara Mountain, CA
Description
This is a generally flat ride along a paved multi-use trail, except for
a small climb @ 4.8 miles (3% average grade) marker to the end of trail
@ 6 miles marker. The return is along the same route. Nice trail with
lots of benches and portable toilets every couple miles, even drinking
water fountain at beginning and end of trail. Because of the heavy use
of this very popular trail (pedestrians, runners, skaters and cyclists),
especially on the weekends, it is imperative that great caution is
exercised at all times.
Directions to the start
(N 37° 31' 52", W 122° 21' 48")

Interstate Highway 280 and head west toward Half Moon Bay. After about
1/2 mile, turn right on Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35). Stay on Skyline
Boulevard about 1.5 miles to the intersection with Crystal Springs Road,
on the right. The entrance to Sawyer Camp Trail is at this
intersection.
